Actions are Based on Beliefs

What a person believes about themselves and believes about others is generally accepted as motivation for their actions...even in infants. Cool!

What is the ACTION that you want to happen...hint...(create a birth experience that aligns with your preferences). The more clarity of goal (preferences) the more your behaviors will come naturally and easily.

Aligning Your Actions with Your Preferences

Most people I've met want to 'be a part of' or at least 'feel connected to themselves' during their birth story...regardless of outcome. The research supports high levels of satisfaction associated with actively participating in the process of decisions during pregnancy & birth.

Clarity of Purpose makes Actions Easier

Lets get clear on why Mindful Movement matters:

  1. Chronic stress contributes to hormone imbalances and less preferred birth outcomes

  2. Movement helps to restore & regulate hormonal balance in a pregnant body

  3. Why do hormones matter:

    1. Fun Fact: Prostaglandins --a hormone your body naturally makes when everything is in balance, helps at various stages of your babies development.

      1. Prostaglandins regulate blood flow to the placenta (helping baby grow)

      2. Prostaglandins also influence the production of amniotic fluid (keeping baby safe & protected)

      3. Prostaglandins stimulate contractions in the uterus, help your cervix to soften & dilate (facilitating babies movement through the birth canal)

      4. After delivery- Prostaglandins continue to help your uterus contract which reduces maternal bleeding.

      5. Prostaglandins are involved in immune responses during pregnancy (protecting you and baby from infections).

    2. Additional Fun Fact: inflammation affects prostaglandins ability to function... and movement decreases inflammation.

Just Keep Moving!
