The Doula Learning Collaborative

The Doula Learning Collaborative is designed for new and potentially not-yet certified birth doulas who have supported 0-20 births. Doula applicants must have begun and/or completed a birth doula training course offered by a certifying training organization to qualify for the program.

In addition to the coursework, all doulas who participate in the Learning Collaborative are invited to shadow a birth with an experienced birth doula, view recordings of experienced birth doulas conducting birth and postpartum debriefs, be listed as a Student Doula on the DC Birth Doulas website, and schedule a 45-min 1:1 coaching call with DCBD owner Sarah Paksima.

Lamaze Community Birth Educator Training

Building stronger communities with evidence-based, health equity centered educators.

While the Lamaze Learning Guide is designed to help prepare you to pass the Lamaze Exam, our seminars are designed to help prepare you for the classroom. Our training focuses on principles of adult learning, facilitation skills, and modeling instruction techniques so you will feel prepared to start teaching in your own community. Our training seminar is appropriate for any one who wants to teach birthing families - whether they want to pursue Lamaze certification or begin teaching directly.

The Community Birth Educators program uses a blended learning format, which allows you to start the program requirements online prior to the in-person live virtual classroom portion.

Seminar Fee: $650 USD

*limited number of partial scholarships available
