In-Person IBCLC Visit

Service Description

Prenatal visit: Schedule your 60-90 minute in-person prenatal visit with our IBCLC between week 35-37 of your pregnancy. This appointment will cover your infant feeding goals, make a plan for your immediate postpartum days at the hospital through the first week, talk through pump selection, conduct a flange fitting and anatomy exam, discuss how to establish milk supply, and review other important topics in those first few weeks. Postpartum visits: Once your baby arrives, our IBCLC will provide two in-person appointments which last 60-90 minutes. During these appointments, you share any concerns and together we troubleshoot what may be going on. Typically, we might observe a feeding, weigh the baby to assess how much milk was transferred, make adjustments to latch and position, conduct an oral assessment of the baby, and/or review supplementing as needed. You will receive an updated plan of care after every visit.
